Meet Our Staff
Staff Members:
Darren Tipton, CMP, Founder and CEO: Darren Tipton first began working with humanitarian projects in 1990 when he participated in a beach ministry project transporting intoxicated students who were on spring break at South Padre Island, TX. He made his first overseas humanitarian trip to Kenya in 1996. He has coordinated collegiate leadership development initiatives for National Collegiate Ministry, with the Southern Baptist Convention, and he coordinated leadership-training events for new volunteers for the North American Mission Board for nine years. In 1997, he founded DoMissions, an organization focused on cooperative multi-denominational ministry in Africa and Eastern Europe. In 2010, DoMissions was renamed Project Humanity and its mission was redefined to what it is today. Connect with Darren on Facebook.
Darren has traveled extensively and led teams to such countries as South Africa, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Burkina Faso, Gambia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Spain, Poland, and Malta. He holds a B.S. in Public Relations from West Texas State University, and an M.A. in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Vacant, Director of Communications: This position encompasses management for all forms of written, electronic and creative media outreach, including social media. The Director of Communications also leads the communications team.
Vacant, Director of Medical Outreach: This position coordinates our relationships with Universities and Colleges for recruiting medical students and coordinates our medical outreach projects.
Vacant, Director for Corporate Citizenship: This position works to engage corporations to become excellent corporate citizens and coordinates the donation of gifts to our work.

Amy Signaigo, Travel Coordinator: A veteran of DoMissions and Project Humanity, Amy has been involved in leading teams on overseas trips for over 13 years, mostly to Africa, eastern Europe and southeast Asia. She is highly skilled in assisting PH participants in getting their passports, registering with the State Department for international travel and she also assists with scheduling and making travel arrangements, and ensure all team members are where they are supposed to be. Amy has been employed as a staff member for a mission-sending agency for over a decade where she specializes in matching skilled volunteers with specific assignments. Connect with Amy on Facebook!
Board of Directors:
Richard Madison, Board Member: With extensive travel experience throughout Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, Rich has also completed volunteer and humanitarian service work in South Africa, Tanzania and Peru.
Rich is the Senior Director of Mortgage Education at the Conference of State Bank Supervisors and has worked for UnitedHealth Group, American Public University System, AOL and is a Navy veteran. He is highly skilled in networking and developing a systems approach to donations and Board activities. He has a M.A. in Management and a B.A. in interdisciplinary studies. Rich gives leadership to our Board meetings, to our domestic promotions strategy and to PH's Bright Idea Campaign.
Dan “Murphy” Strader, Board Member: Dan is the founder and co-owner of Geodesic Management, which specializes in entertainment management. Dan began his career working in television news production and then went into syndicated national programming with Warner Brothers Television. Dan brings to Project Humanity business acumen and the knowledge of for how to communicate the mission and values of the organization to the volunteer community and the press and at large. Dan provides guidance to the development and expansion of PH's Bright Idea Campaign.
Harvey Needle, CPA, Board Member: Harvey maintains a successful CPA practice in Alexandria, Virginia. With over 30 years of experience in serving hundreds of business and personal clients, Harvey brings a rich history of advice and training to the financial aspects of Project Humanity. He also has 15 years of banking and industry accounting. He graduated from the University of Maryland Summa Cum Laude.

Fred Tipton, Secretary/Treasurer: Fred spent 20 years in the meat packing business achieving the position of operations manager for Swift, Inc. He managed hundreds of employees and budgets for the organization while exceeding financial goals. He also owned and operated a Power Equipment business for 24 years before his retirement. He brings these years of management and his entrepreneurial spirit to assist Project Humanity in its many goals. Connect with Fred on Facebook.
Adjunct Staff:
James St. Peter, Travel Consultant: James is employed by Prestige Resorts & Destinations in 2011 as Regional Director of Sales for Midwest and Religious Markets. He serves PH in an adjunct manner. James was a student of theology and law, in which he earned a graduate degree from Duke University. While in law school, James was the recipient of an award for excellence in professionalism. James has worked with different law firms and non-profit organizations in Minneapolis and Seattle, and is ready to put his diverse educational background, work history and professionalism to practice with Project Humanity.
Our mission, in collaboration with local leaders, is to identify and complete projects in rural villages that bring sustainable and meaningful benefit to the lives of individuals and the community where they live and work.
