Our Current Projects:

July Kenya Humanitarian Project

July 05, 2012 - July 14, 2012

Location: Kisumu, Kenya

Kenya is an amazingly beautiful country with a rich heritage. It is one of the last remaining places in the world where wildlife run free and many of the tribal customs continue even today!

The July Mission Team will be focused on three aspects of our work in the Miruku Village (Western Kenya).

  • We will be coordinating a full-scale medical clinic (Echoes of Humanity) hoping to see approximately 300 villagers during the week we are in the village. This will require RN’s, student nurses, MD’s, pharmacists and other medical personnel. The challenge here is that you will see some of our world’s most debilitating diseases (HIV/AIDS, malaria, malnutrition, leprosy, and other health issues). If you are a nursing, premed or other medically related student or professional, this is for you!
  • We will be working to help the villagers learn about sustainable development. This is a brand new project we will be doing – helping the villagers learn to support themselves in a long-term manner! Taking simple projects such as farming, chicken farm development, goat reproduction, etc, we will assist the villagers in starting new businesses!
  • With a small school of 150 orphan children, we need education and social work majors to assist in seeing that the children’s needs are met, to offer help in training the teachers on how to teach (learning styles, methods of presentation, etc). Also, we will be bringing the school’s first music program to them! We’ll focus on some of their traditional music expressions (get ready to dance!)  One of the main projects for this aspect of the work is that we will be establishing a library for the orphan children in the school.

With Love This Christmas Project

December 05, 2012 - December 14, 2012

Location: Kisumu, Kenya

Project Humanity has taken on a Golliath-sized challenge:  to bring Christmas to the 150 orphan children in our adopted village this December!

These 150 orphans have bright shining smiles, tons of enthusiasm and if given opportunities to succeed, a daring will to overcome their challenges.  This PH Team will bring school supplies, clothing items, a chicken (believe it or not!), and other necessities, "With Love This Christmas" will meet urgent needs, create opportunity to develop responsibility (and self-sustainability) and continue our vision of empowering our orphans to make it on their own!

The real gift of "Christmas" in this project is the love and hope that you will personally bring to the children you meet.  Positive words and warm hugs and smiles mean the world to these children -- and they cost nothing!  We need all types of people on this project!  If you love Christmas, enjoy the smiling faces of children, and have a lot of love in your heart to share, this project may be for you!  Apply Here!
