PH Kicks Off Used Shoe Campaign!

Project Humanity declares week of February 12-18, 2012 our National Shoe Campaign Week!  Our goal:  thousands of pairs of lightly used shoes!

Changing the world is a really big idea especially to youth who have all the energy to do so but may not know where to begin!  School aged youth across the United States are being challenged to change the world by digging deep into their closets to find lightly used shoes they will donate to Project Humanity's  The Bright Idea Campaign.

The Bright Idea Campaign is a Campaign to challenge school-aged children in the United States to become lifelong humanitarian champions and to find tangible and practical micro projects to meet basic needs of the children of our world.  In short, the BIC is Children Serving Children.

Thousands of children in Kenya go without shoes, constantly exposing them to the elements, to worms and other diseases.  It is difficult to walk the miles to school or to work without them.

The Lightly Used Shoes Project is a challenge to school-aged youth to collect lightly used children's shoes.  If you or your children have any shoes you would like to donate to the orphans in Kenya, we ask that you place a new pair of socks in each shoe and email us to get shipping information.   To an orphan or to a woman struggling with HIV/AIDS, this will be such an amazing gift -- and the best part is that it requires little or no investment on the donor's part!

Energetic.  Enthusiastic.  Nothing holds us back attitude.  Youth are determined that nothing will stand in their way to make a difference in the world - starting with Kenyan children.  This kind of thinking from the heart is exactly what it takes to change the world.

What is The Bright Idea Campaign?

What has a heart of gold, a spirit of adventure, a no-holds-barred determination to win, a sense of humanitarian compassion and a steadfastness to tackle any task?  What is the hope of our world and is determined that it can change the world (without seeing all of the obstacles)?

The love of a child!

The Bright Idea Campaign began with the compassionate thinking of three young girls who wanted to tackle projects to help change Africa -- specifically Kenya!

It began with the idea that they wanted to share their love and to do something that would help other children who were lacking basic necessities.  Their initial thought was, "Why can't we help those African children by sharing things we already own?"

Great question!  The logistics might be a little tricky, but sure enough the children in Kenya have true needs that can be easily met by children in the United States.  And it could be things that are already in their posession!

So, with the idea of children sharing with children in Kenya and with the intention of challenging children all across America to develop their sense of humanitarianism, we proudly launch "The Bright Idea Campaign."
